Bill Suttie, a long serving member of the Jubilee has died aged 91. My memory of him only goes back to 1972 when I moved down here. He was an inveterate long distance rider and completed no less then 24 24 hour races, many of them on a trike. He held club records of 418 miles in 1958 and 381 miles on a trike in 1964. Bill and Barbara lived in Kinson and two of their children, William and Jean were themselves fast riders with the club in their day. When Jean went to Italy to run a guest house in Tuscany Bill sold up and moved out there to be with Jean and her husband. However it was a brave move and the remoteness and hilly nature of Tuscany didn't help and eventually they came back to the UK in 2004 to live near their other son Alan in Fife, Scotland. I think they were happier there. I rode a lot with him with the Sunday "Scrumpy Wheelers" and in vets events. He was a great companion and friend and we shall miss him. The club's condolences go to his family Barbara, Jean,William and Alan. Peter Boston.
