All are welcome to attend Bournemouth Jubilee club runs. Regular riders (after a maximum of 3 rides) MUST be a member of a CTC/BC affiliated club to be allowed to join club rides. Obviously we would prefer you to be a BJW member, and the easiest way to do that is via British Cycling’s portal (Details can be found here). Equally if you are already a member of another club, you can still join BJW as a 2nd claim member (but that is not essential).
Currently we ride on a Sunday morning and Thursday evening.
The rides will generally be ~50-70 miles with a cafe stop at the destination. Club runs are not run at race pace, but you do need to be reasonably fit to complete them. You need a robust bike (not expensive) as some of the roads that the club roads take place on are small B-roads so mudguards and 25c tyres are recommended in the Winter Months.
Meet schedule and destination are posted on the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers facebook page as well as in the ‘BJW Sunday Club Rides and More’ Strava Group
Routes for Sunday rides will be available Thursday/Friday the week of the ride
Sunday rides are organised by Mark Westcott – firstname.lastname@example.org
On Thursday evenings we meet at Canford Bottom Roundabout – Colehill turning. Ride starts at 1830 so please arrive early. 25 miles on mainly quiet country roads with a bit of chaingang for a mile or two. Will run more groups if numbers and pace dictates. NO-ONE will be dropped. Kev Ridge organises the Thursday evening ride.
