A number of BJW riders rode the annual Dorset Coast 200km Audax this Sunday. A challenging, hilly route to Axminster and back which includes a ride on a ferry, a cup of tea in Weymouth and lunch in Axminster included in the entry fee!
HQ was a new venue this year – the Leisure Centre beside the Purbeck School in Wareham. Serving Coffees and cooked breakfasts before the start.
Due to a road closure in Uploders there was a slight route change ascending Eggardon Hill from Powerstock this year. The jury is out whether this climb is any better than the dreaded Spyway! This route passed a rider’s house who kindly provided Jaffa Cakes and tea!
The weather was kind to the riders, and all riders were back in Wareham roughly 12 hours later to enjoy a well earned pint!
