Louisa and Andy Cooper Break BJW Mixed Tandem 25M Record

Tandem partnership Louisa and Andy Cooper followed up last year’s success on a 10M course with an attempt on the Club 25M record at the Welsh CA Championships on the fast R25/3H on Sunday. In Louisa’s own words…

“Following last years success with a fast 10 in Hull we wanted to have a go at a 25 as the numbers indicated the mixed club and even the national record could be possible.

“The conditions looked fast going into the event, heading out to the turn (15 miles) we were 10 seconds up on the national record, even at 20 miles we were still on track. Unfortunately the head wind really picked up for the remaining 5 miles and we watched as our average speed dropped below the 31.5mph target. We absolutely buried ourselves up to the line but finished just 27 seconds short.

“It’s great to come so close to a national record and gives us confidence that these records could be achievable”

A great result but also bad luck on the National Record…
