Club Runs

All are welcome to attend Bournemouth Jubilee club rides. We would encourage regular riders to become a member of CTC/BC or an affiliated club to obtain insurance cover. The easiest way to join BJW (who are CTC / BC affiliated) is via British Cycling’s portal (Details can be found here). Equally if you are already a member of another club, you can still join BJW as a 2nd claim member (but that is not essential).

Currently we ride on a Sunday morning and Thursday evening.

Sunday mornings are led by Mark Westcott, we meet in Wimborne Square and leave at 8.30am. The ride route will be published during the week on our FaceBook page and Strava group, the ride is usually ~60-80 miles with a café stop around halfway. The average speed depends on the group and route taken but is typically ~16-18mph, we will re-group at the top of climbs and try to keep the group together where possible.

There is a second ride on Sunday morning at 8:45 from Wimborne Square led by Jonathan Charman. A shorter ride at a more leisurely pace with a coffee afterwards.

On Thursday evenings we meet at Canford Bottom Roundabout – Colehill turning. Ride starts at 1830 so please arrive early. 25 miles on mainly quiet country roads with a bit of chaingang for a mile or two. Will run more groups if numbers and pace dictates. NO-ONE will be dropped. Kev Ridge organises the Thursday evening ride.

On Saturday mornings, there is the faster paced chaingang, run by Bob Richardson leaving Hurn Post office at 9:00 AM. Average pace between 21-22 mph. There will be no waiting around should riders need to stop or get dropped!

Keep an eye on the BJW Facebook page, Strava Group or this webpage, where any updates or changes will be announced.
