Last weekend’s ride from 08:45 Wimborne Square had a group of us enjoying the sunshine after the previous weekends biblical downpour, when only Tom and Jon proved hardy enough/ stupid enough * to ride. To be fair though, if a tad damp it was warm. We also discovered who the owl whisperers in the BJW are…yes, Blair, Tom, Kev and Jon. We spotted a sunbathing (?) Little Owl who if non-plussed by cyclists stopping to stare at it, began to screech at us until we left it to its own devices and rode on. This event follows the ride two weeks previously when we seemed to be riding under the Dorset Raptor festival with 3 red kites, 1 sparrowhawk, 4 kestrels and 8 buzzards (okay, one of the old buzzards was Jon). Anyone wants to join us on a Sunday, there is no pre-requisite that you have to be able to talk to the birds !
