Dave Pickering scored his third club win in eight days as he continued his preparations for the season proper. The Jubilee man’s impressive 40.08 on the two lap sporting Pamphill circuit put him well ahead of the opposition on a cold, breezy, morning. Pickering gets his campaign underway in earnest with the Wessex RC Hilly 24 on March 29th.
John Samways missed beating Dave Pickering’s 17 mile record by 12 seconds. However Dave upped the ante by knocking another 35 seconds off it!
Last year the temperature was 15c which shows how good today’s rides were for all riders. Mike Courage was another who went 43 sec quicker.
Eamonn Deane put his slowish ride down to his mudguards/riding out/excitement over his forthcoming trip to Holland with the paracyclists.
