Hello Jubilee Members.
As Time Trials Secretary (assuming I get re-elected) it is my duty to ask members to give the sport as much help as they can. In particular, to ride our events and help out with the administration. We need timekeepers and marshals – advancing years has led to many retirements in recent years.
Your help in just a few events will make an enormous difference and your views will go a long way to keeping the Jubilee standards at their high level. It is not for nothing that the club has been at the forefront of local cycling for the past 35 years. One consequence has led to our promotion of the prestigious National 50 mile championships.
For 2014 all the administrative paperwork has been done (event schedule, police notifications, risk assessment etc.) so all members can enjoy the comradeship and enjoyment of friendly competition that time trialling can provide. It really is a case of the more the merrier.
It never ceases to amaze me as to the number of 40 and 50 year olds who become so enthusiastic and frequently do better than their efforts of yesteryear. So youngsters ( anyone between 12 and 39 inclusive), don’t let them get away with all the glory.
May I add that timekeeping is not difficult and for members without an electronic watch the club can help.
Do make my job of getting the results out more difficult by making big entry lists ! Thanks.
